Governor's Island
Project Image
Both buildings have been neglected since the Coast Guard left the island years ago. The State and City of New York are now the Owners and are in the process of restoring all historic buildings on this island. Some of the buildings date back as far as the late 1700's. The Owner, Turner Construction and Hygrade take enormous pride in being part of the restoration of this historic landmark.
West Babylon
Project Image
The aging sheet roofing systems were allowing water to enter the insulation portion of the system, migrate through the original BUR and into the work space of the building. The existing roof also allowed water ponding which caused the interior of the building to drip for days after the rain stopped. It was necessary to completely remove both roofing systems and install the new seamless polyurethane roofing system during the summer break when the students were not present. This was possible due to the extraordinary efforts of the project's building team which consisted of key personnel from the owner, Architect, suppliers and Hygrade.
FEMA
Project Image
The federal government has not used this building since WWII. The decision was made to repair the building and not demolish it which saved the Government millions of dollars by preserving the existing structure. The new Bayer/GE roofing system used in the reconstruction will serve the owner for many years.
Hillcrest Shopping Plaza

This fifty plus year old shopping center was do for a renovation, but its roof didn't want to cooperate with numerous leaks and an outdated building style. The solution was to install a combination of Polyurethane Foam and Metal which gave it a more efficient, light weight, modern design.
Great Neck Schools
Project Image
For many years, this School District put off replacing failing roof systems on various buildings. When maintaining these roofs in a watertight condition got too costly, the District budgeted for total roof replacements. Over the last six years the Great Neck S.D. has replaced the roofs that posed the biggest problems with a new Bayer/GE Polyurethane Roofing System. The completion of North Middle School in 2008 is the latest school to receive a new Bayer/GE System.
